The gold-standard thermal procedure using laser energy to collapse and permanently close diseased veins.

Endovenous Laser Ablation

Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)

Endovenous Laser Ablation is considered the “Gold Standard” for treating large, bulging varicose veins. This minimally invasive procedure uses highly focused laser energy to deliver heat to the internal walls of the vein, causing them to collapse and seal shut. Once the vein is closed, the body naturally reroutes blood flow to healthy veins.

  • Why EVLA is the preferred choice:
  • 98% Success Rate: Exceptionally high clinical success for long-term vein closure.
  • Pin-Hole Entry: Performed through a tiny nick in the skin that leaves no scar.
  • In-Office Procedure: No need for general anesthesia or a hospital stay.

The Procedure of EVLA

Our specialists use the latest generation of laser fibers to ensure the most comfortable experience possible.

  • 1

The leg is mapped using ultrasound, and the treatment area is cleaned and numbed using local tumescent anesthesia.

  • 2

A very thin laser fiber is inserted into the diseased vein through a small sheath under continuous ultrasound visualization.

  • 3

The laser is activated as the doctor slowly withdraws the fiber, heating the vein wall and causing it to permanently close.

  • 4

The fiber is removed, and the leg is placed in a compression stocking to aid the healing process.

Why EVLA is Important

Untreated varicose veins can lead to serious complications like Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or spontaneous bleeding. EVLA is vital because it addresses the high pressure inside the veins that causes these risks, providing a permanent medical solution rather than just masking symptoms.
